<p>PURPOSE:To prevent water from penetrating into a car room, by installing a water intercepting part, heading for a door lower end, in the lower part of a door weather strip's elastic contact surface of a side sill. CONSTITUTION:In this side sill S2, a stepped part 17 is formed in space between a top surface 3 and an outer side face 4 of a sill outer panel 1, and this stepped part 17 is formed in a stairlike form by means of press molding, while a water intercepting part 20, heading for a door lower end 8, is installed in position between a vertical wall 18 and a bottom wall 19 of the stepped part 17. Even in case of discharging water at the door lower end 8 in this of car washing, the water comes to penetrate into the stepped part 17 in running around the door lower end 8 is weakened of its force by the water intercepting part 20 whereby it will not directly hit an elastic contact surface 16 between a door weather strip 9 and the vertical wall 18.</p> |
