PURPOSE:To aim at preventing such an accident as a rear-end collision from occurring, by energizing a current circuit for warning lamps at the rear when opening or closing an electric switch with movements of an accelerator pedal or its shaft. CONSTITUTION:An electric switch 4 is installed in an accelerator pedal shaft 2 lying between an accelerator pedal 1 and a carburetor 5 so as to be interlocked with each other, and with this constitution, just at that moment a driver's foot comes off the accelerator pedal 1 to operate a brake during driving, the electric switch 4 is turned on with movements of the accelerator pedal shaft 2 centering on a fulcrum shaft 3, lighting each of warning lamps 8 and 8 at the rear of an automobile through an electric current and, after giving attention to a succeeding car to step on its brake, a driver steps on his brake in consequence. With a time differential at that point, the succeeding car can afford to step on the brake so that a rear-end collision is preventable from occurring unless a car-to-car distance is extremely shortened. And, in time of once stopping a car, simultaneously with the stoppage, these warning lamps 8 and 8 double as an identification lamp, that is, they are lighted till the car starts whereby safety in the rear of the car is thus guaranteed. |
