The sort for profiled sections of different lengths comprises a stand (3) with frame divisions (31) whose positions and dimensions correspond to those of the shelves of a furniture stand (1). The latter can be placed against the stand so that the delivery opening (2) of each shelf compartment of the furniture stand can be brought into agreement with a frame division of the stand. The stand is fitted with control lamps (4), each located level with a frame division. The lamps are switched on one after the other in dependence on the length of each profiled section which are ejected in succession from the cutting machine, which cuts the sections to the required different lengths.
