PURPOSE:To improve tightness and prevent leakage in a method, in which only the terminals for sealing are subjected to chrome oxide treatment followed by being united en block with the electrode proper and the terminals for voltage impression, while the terminal parts for sealing are sealed with glass containers through adhesive frit. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam stream control electrode proper 31 is separated from terminals 32, 32' for sealing and terminals 33, 33' for voltage impression, while being made up of a material of an Fe-Ni-Cr system alloy. The electron beam stream control electrode 31 is given Ag plating for preventing oxidation and not being charged with an electron beam. The terminals 32 and 32' for sealing as separate bodies are given chrome oxide treatment 34 on their surfaces for getting good adhesiveness. The terminals 32 and 32' for sealing are firstly united en bloc with the electron beam control electrode 31 proper by laser welding 35 or the like. Further, the terminals 33 and 33' for voltage impression are jointed together by laser welding or the like. A picture display device is finished by being sealed with the upper and lower glass containers through adhesive frit at the terminals for sealing. |
