PURPOSE:To prevent surely mixture of noise to observed waveform at the time of operation of a Schmitt circuit and to obtain the high quality observed waveform by providing gate function in the Schmitt circuit that shapes the waveform of a trigger signal. CONSTITUTION:An input signal Vin is compared with the set level Vc of a trigger level adjuster 1 by a trigger signal amplifier 2, and this compared output is fed to the Schmitt circuit 5. The circuit 5 has gate function and supplies the output to an A sweep signal generator 6 and a B sweep signal generator 7 and makes them start the sweep of a sweep signal. As trigger signal is not necessary during the sweep operation of the generator 6 or 7, when the start of sweeping is detected by a gate controlling circuit 8, a gate controlling signal is fed to the circuit 5 to check the output of a waveform-shaped signal. The circuit 5 stops operation, and prevents mixture of noise generated at this operation to observed waveform.
