<p>A circumferential sealing assembly for use with a generally cylindrical, rotatable liquid metal reaction vessel (1) and a hood (14) which is provided to collect hot gases from the reaction vessel (1). The sealing assembly comprises a cable (62) and a cable housing (37). The cable housing (37) is connected to and extends along a circumferential edge or area of the hood (14). The cable (62) itself extends along, at least partly outside, the cable housing (37). With one embodiment, the cable (62) is in a tight pressure fit with the reaction vessel (1). With another embodiment, a sheath (72) encloses an under portion of the cable (62) and the cable (62) pulls the sheath (72) into a tight pressure fit with the reaction vessel (1).</p> |
