The invention relates to a device for the strain relief of a lead. Such devices must also protect against twisting, particularly when they are used in intrinsically-safe and flameproof equipment. In the case of the invention, the twisting protection is achieved by means of a bracket (13) of a clamp (3) which is arranged in a lead insertion connecting piece (2) such that it prevents relative twisting of the lead outlet connecting piece (9) with respect to the lead inlet connecting piece, irrespective of the thickness of the lead which is in each case firmly clamped. In detail, this is achieved by means of an eccentric arrangement of the attachment screws (4, 5) of the clamp (3), which eccentric arrangement allows a tilting movement of the clamp (3) and hence of the bracket (13) in the event of different lead diameters. As a result of this tilting movement, the end of the bracket (13) always remains in the same position. <IMAGE>
