The invention relates to an endoprosthesis anchorage for total prostheses of the knee, comprising a femoral and a tibial part and intended for cementless, intramedullary stem implantation. Annular circumferential projections are provided at regular intervals on the cylindrical stem core, the projections having a trapezoidal shape in lateral section. The surface surrounding the outer points of these projections forms a cone which has its maximum diameter at the location of the tibial bearing surface or the condyles of the femur. The diameter of the ring nearest to the stem tip projects only a few mm above the level of the stem core. The terminal section of the stem is smooth, while its tip is clearly rounded. The annular projections join the stem core with a blunt angle, taper off toward the tip to their maximum radius distance and rise again at the bottom side toward the stem. Longitudinal grooves reaching down to the stem core interrupt the projections.
