The invention relates to an apparatus for drawing off metered quantities of a liquid to semiliquid substance, especially a mass of chocolate, in which the substance is sucked by means of a piston through an intake aperture into a metering cylinder, from which it is pressed through a discharging aperture into a nozzle. The use of a reversing valve between the supply container and the metering cylinder has hitherto been necessary, so that the latter can be alternately connected to the supply container during intake of the substance and to the nozzle when the substance is pressed out. The proposed apparatus is by contrast designed in such a way that the piston is a rotary piston, that the intake aperture and the discharging aperture open out into the metering cylinder in a radial direction, that the rotary piston has a notch which extends to its end face and that the intake aperture or the discharging aperture can be closed alternately according to the rotary position of the rotary piston. Reversing valves are no longer necessary. A plurality of nozzles can be acted upon simultaneously.
