PURPOSE:To provide a high efficient combustion device which can be utilized in a heating operation and in a hothouse by a method wherein an electric furnace is installed to ignite active carbon for use in ignition, wooden pellet fuel fed is ignited to make the activated carbon in sequence and to continue an electrically energized condition as well as to continue a gasified combustion of the fuel. CONSTITUTION:Wooden pellet fuel fed from a lower fuel hopper H-1 by a fuel feeding conveyor 5 rises in a lower combustion chamber 2, is ignited and generates a heat under a heat of activated carbon filled in advance for ignition in the electric furnace for an electrode 4, made as an activated carbon, and is pushed out of the lower combustion chamber into the upper combustion chamber 3. Under this condition, the wooden pellet fuel is supplemented from the upper fuel hopper H-2 is fed into the upper combustion chamber 3 from the fuel feeding conveyor 6 so as to promote the combustion. Air from the blower 11 is made as a hot air under a heat from the furnace is fed to the air preheating chamber 8 arranged at the ceiling part of the main body 1 of the combustion furnace, guided from the hot air guiding pipe 13 to the air box 14, a primary air is injected via each of the rising pipes 15 from the primary combustion air nozzle 16 into the lower combustion chamber 2 and the secondary air is injected from the secondary combustion air nozzle 17 into the upper combustion chamber 3, respectively, and the complete combustion gasification is activated.
