Method for the production, by electroplating, of a localised coating consisting of a material which can be applied by electrodeposition, especially metal, preferably noble metal. The coating occupies a coating zone, preferably an electrical contact zone, of a preferably resilient electrically conductive coating support, particularly a coating support which forms an electric shield for the coating zone in this arrangement, at least that part of the coating support which forms the coating zone being electroplated with the coating material, preferential plating of the coating zone being effected by means of a mask and the mask being removed. The method according to the invention is characterised in that electroplating is carried out without a mask, in that a mask which covers the coating zone is provided on the plated coating support and in that the plating is removed electrolytically from the masked coating support. <IMAGE>
