PURPOSE:To obtain a sealed battery which has improved liquid leakage resistance and in which no short circuits occur even after it is installed in an electric apparatus by coating the entire outer surface of the negative can with an insulating paint film and forming a copper film on an area of the outer surface of the negative can around which a positive can is attached. CONSTITUTION:Copper plating 2d is performed on the inner surface of the bottom 2a of a negative can 2 the entire surface of which is plated with nickel, on the inner surface of the circumferential cylindrical section 2b of the negative can 2 and on a part of the outer surface of the cylindrical section 2b around which the circumferential cylindrical section 1a of a positive can 1 is attached by sintering. The inner and the outer surfaces of the circumferential cylindrical section 2b of the negative can 2 are coated with insulating paint films 2e. Because a copper surface along which electrolyte can easily moves up and on which cuts are easily formed only extends up to the area around which the circumferential cylindrical section 1a of the positive can 1 is attached and a nickel surface on which cuts are hardly formed is situated over the above area, any liquid leakage is prevented. Furthermore, because the outer surface of the negative can 2 is coated with the insulating paint film 2e, any short circuits do not occur. |
