Improvement of a method for electronic music production in which sound signals and therefrom one or more music signals are produced using digital methods, based on digitally stored wave forms which are also referred to as sound curves or sound signal sequences, - said sound signal sequences for all sounds being stored in a common, continuously addressed memory, and - a device referred to as a sound channel memory being used for buffer storage of the current and subsequent instantaneous amplitude value and of further values for each sound signal. The improvement concerns the reloading of the sound channel memory from the sound signal sequence memory. A conveyer belt is inserted as a buffer between the sound signal sequence memory and the sound channel memory, and comprises at least - a prompt stage (data from the sound channel memory pass on to the conveyer belt), - a memory access stage (data from the conveyer belt pass on if necessary to the sound signal sequence memory, whereupon data from the sound signal sequence memory pass back to the conveyer belt), - a write stage (data from the conveyer belt pass on if necessary into the sound channel memory), but may also, if necessary, comprise further (empty) stages. This conveyer belt is operated with a fixed shift timing. Advantageous further developments relate to refreshing the sound signal sequence memory.
