The auxiliary device, consisting of a communicating pipe or tube system (3) which is filled with a liquid (2) and which has as many pipe or tube ends (6) opening into transparent vertical pipes (5) provided with measuring scales (4) as the track torsion and/or track superelevation measuring device (1) has track scanning devices (7), makes it possible to read off the respective height differences (15, 16, 17 and 18) between the contact points (11) of track scanning devices (7) and the respective rail (12 or 13) and the horizontal plane (19) which passes through the liquid surfaces (20) in the vertical pipes (5) of the communicating pipe or tube system (3). From these height differences, a calibrating value for calibrating the track torsion and/or track superelevation measuring device can be determined. <IMAGE>
