PURPOSE:To give no vibration to a heating means, to extend a life of a heat source, and to execute a stable operation extending over a long period of time by fixing the heating means of a pressure roller to a position which is independent from a moving means of the pressure roller. CONSTITUTION:A halogen heater being a heating source 35 of a pressure roller 32 is fixed independently to a side plate 36 of a fixing device, irrespective of a pressure movement of the pressure roller 32. Also, the lowest position 37 of a supporting part 33 and the lowest position 38 of a heater 35 are separated by a distance derived by adding a safety distance alpha to a moving extent (a) of the pressure roller 32, and set so that the heater 35 and the roller 32 do not contact with each other. Therefore, a vibration in case pressure of the roller 32 is impressed and released is not given to a halogen heater whichis good in its heat conversion efficiency but weak against vibration, a life of the device is extended, and it can be operated stably extending over a long period of time. |
