A treadmill (10) for animals such as horses which includes a main fixed support frame (11), a movable support frame (12) which carries the endless belt (14) of the treadmill (10) and which is connected to the main frame (11) for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis under the control of elevating rams (13). The speed of the endless belt (14) or the elevation of the support frame (12) is varied in accordance with the heart rate sensed by a heart monitor (33) associated with the animal. |
