PURPOSE:To shorten the waiting time of retrieval by providing a carrying means which moves an inserting and removing device, which is moved toward or away from a stocker where plural double face disks are arranged and stored and inserts or removes disks, along the stocker between a pair of decks so that said device can be stopped selectively. CONSTITUTION:A disk motor 16 of a deck 15 is stopped by a disk replacement command from an external device, and a clamper 18 is turned in the direction of an arrow D to release clamping. Next, a carrier 11 is carried toward the other deck 15', and it is stopped when it reaches the front of a position predetermined for storage of a disk case 2-3 in a stocker 7. In this state, an inserting and removing means 10 is moved forward to the stocker 7, and the disk case 2-3 is brought to a prescribed position of the stocker 7, and the carrier 11 is carried slightly toward the deck 15' while holding the inserting and removing means 10 in its advance position, and an engaging claw 10a of the inserting and removing means 10 is disengaged from an engaging part of the disk case 2-3, and the carrier 11 is stopped when this claw 10a is engaged with an engaging part of an adjacent disk case 2-4. |
