PURPOSE:To improve the spatial and timewise dispersion of fuel into a combustion chamber, and to enhance the utilization of air by making the diameters of outer jets in a plurality of jets for a fuel valve smaller than those of inner jets, each unifying outer and inner sprays group and developing the groups as one spray. CONSTITUTION:The figure represents four jets, the diameter of a jet on the innermost side is maximized and the diameters of jets are reduced in succession toward the outside, the diameter of a jet on the outermost side is minimized, and the state of dispersion of fuel (fuel sprays 14-17) of a fuel valve 13 in a combustion chamber 12 at a time when two jets on the inner side and two jets on the outer side are unified is shown. Sw represents an air vortex flow in the combustion chamber. Two sprays of fuel, which have excellent air introducing characteristics and sufficient penetrating force and in which the throw of inner sprays is longer than outer sprays, are formed as a whole. That is, the penetrating force of the inner spray groups are made larger than that of the outer spray groups (throw thereof is made longer), and the utilization of air and combustion efficiency are improved. |
