PURPOSE:To efficiently open the end of a fabric when the cylindrical skirt part of a shirt is subjected to a skirt sewing, by effecting press-contact, horizontal movement, rotation and elevation from above a separating member to the uppermost one of stacked fabrics to separate the uppermost fabric. CONSTITUTION:In the case of that stacked fabrics 89 set on a fabric setting bed 88 which is elevatably arranged, are processed from the uppermost one of the stacked fabrics, needle cloth pieces 1 are lowered by actuating a cylinder from the positon A to the position B so that a needle cloth 1a is made into press-contact with the surface of the uppermost cylindrical fabtic. After the needle cloth pieces 1 are horizontally shifted toward the position C to move a fabric 86 in the same direction, a gripping piece 4 positioned between the left and right needle cloth pieces 1 is rotated from its horizontal position to its vertical position, and as well the needle cloth pieces 1 are also rotated to their vertical positions to the outer end 89a of the fabric is separated upward. Then, after the needle cloth pieces 1 is lifted up, a pair of rods 66, 70, and a pair of rods 67, 71 which are positioned in the horizontal position are inserted below the end 89a of the fabric, and as well are rotated to their vertical positions to open the end of the fabric. |
