<p>The device marks a direction (DV) associated with a moving object by using two point sources of light (S1, S2) mounted on the object and illuminated alternately. It comprises a detecting device (11) consisting of two sensor subassemblies (10A, 10B) each incorporating a linear array of photosensitive elements (1A, 1B) for determining two planes (P1, P2) passing through the radiating source and for producing, with an attached calculator (13), the spatial location of the corresponding line of intersection, followed by the spatial location of the segment (L2) between the two sources and hence the direction of the axis (DV) to be marked.
