PURPOSE:To enable an extremely high initial acceleration, by a construction wherein a stopper member for determining a returning position of a hammer is formed from a magnetic material, is movably supported, and is attracted at the time of initial excitation of a solenoid to provide the hammer with a protruding force. CONSTITUTION:The stopper member 11 for determining the returning position of the hammer 5 is formed from a magnetic material. The stopper member 11 determining the position of a plunger 7 through an elastic shock absorber 16 is rotatably supported on a stud 19, and the position of the rotation is determined by the shock absorber. When an electric current is passed to the solenoid 6, a front-side yoke 8 and a rear-side yoke 9 are magnetized. The stopper member 11 is rapidly attracted by the yoke 9, thereby causing the plunger 7 to rapidly protrude in the direction of a platen 1, attracts and is attracted by the yoke 8, and is further accelerated to press a type on a type wheel 4 against a printing paper 2 on the platen 1 through an ink ribbon. |
