PURPOSE:To prevent unexpected slide of a slider by providing a small hole in a prescribed position of the slider and providing a lock pin, which is held elastically from a cassette casing toward the slider and has the front end formed to an arc-shaped surface, in accordance with said position. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette is not used, upper end faces of side plate parts 9d and 9e of a slider 9 are brought into contact with lower end faces of arm parts 8a and 8b of a front cover 8, and the front cover 8 is not turned unexpectedly. Further, since a small-diameter part 15c of a lock pin 15 is inserted to the small hole of a slider part 9, the slider 9 is not slid because of engagement between the small-diameter part 15c of the lock pin 15 and the small hole even if the slider part 9 is slid backward to open a notch part 3a unexpectedly. Thus, a magnetic tape 6 is sealed up well.
