PURPOSE:To obtain a curable composition good in long-term storage stability and capable of yielding a cured product of excellent properties by short heating, by cation-polymerizing a specified compound in the presence of an organic sulfonium salt of a nonnucleophilic anion. CONSTITUTION:A compound having a spiro-ortho-ester group, bicyclo-ortho-ester group and/or spiro-orthocarbonate group (e.g., 1,4,6,9-tetraoxaspiro[4,4]nonane) is mixed with an organic sulfonium salt of a nonnucleophilic anion which, when heated, can produce a Lewis acid (e.g., prenyl-tetramethylenesulfonium hexafluoroantimonate) and cation-polymerized at 50-250 deg.C. USE:Casting material, molding material, adhesive, paint, etc.
