PURPOSE:A dentifrice composition, containing nonhydrated calcium hydrogenphosphate having a specific average size of crystallites measured by X-ray diffractometry and aluminum oxide having a specific aggregated particle diameter, having high cleaning power but low polishing power, and capable of giving good gloss to teeth. CONSTITUTION:A dentifrice composition containing (A) nonhydrated calcium hydrogenphosphate having 300-3,500Angstrom average value of crystallite size measured by X-ray diffractometry, further 2.650-2.885g/cm<3> density, 2.5-20m<2>/g specific surface area measured by the BET method and 2-30mum average aggregated particle diameter as a polishing agent and (B) aluminum oxide having 0.5-10mum average aggregated particle diameter, low polishing power in spite of high cleaning power and good gloss imparting effect on teeth without damaging enamel thereof. The amounts of the above-mentioned components based on the total composition are preferably 1-60wt% component (A) and 1-30wt% component (B).
