PURPOSE:To reduce nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide very easily in a short time without forming by-products, by reacting a microorganism capable of producing hydrogen with the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide under a high pressure of hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism capable of producing hydrogen, e.g. clostridium butylicum or marine microorganism capable of producing hydrogen NKH007, is suspended in a buffer solution containing nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, and hydrogen is introduced into the resultant suspension to carry out reaction preferably under a pressure as high as >=10atm.
