PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of collection of plate-like materials such as, for example, veneers having predetermined dimensions, by elevatably providing a plurality of receptacles for making the plate-like materials abut against a driving member rotated at a low speed, when the plate-like materials are fed onto a conveyor at irregular intervals. CONSTITUTION:Upon collection of plate-like members, the plate-like members S1, S2... are fed at arbitrary intervals onto a feed conveyor 10. Therefore, the frontmost plate-like member S1 passes through plate-like material detectors L14, L13..., successively, to operate a terminal end plate-like material detectors L1- L3. Then cylinders C1-C3 are moved upward so that the frontmost plate-like materials S1 is made abut against an upper plate-like material receiving member 5 through the intermediary of plate-like member receptacles R1-R3. When detectors L4, L5 are actuated due to entrance of the next plate-like material S2, the plate-like material S2 is also made abut against the receiving member 5 since cylinders C4, C5 are operated. Since this receiving member 5 is rotated by a belt conveyor 6, it is shifted until it abuts against the plate-like material S1. Similarly, subsequent plate-like materials S3, S4 are collected.
