PURPOSE:To prevent the inflow of air at the recovery time of ink, by detecting the liquid level of the ink accumulated in a gutter by a liquid level detection sensor and recovering the ink so as to slightly leave the ink in the gutter. CONSTITUTION:Ink, which is injected from a jet nozzle 7 and is not contributed to printing, is accumulated in a gutter 8. When the ink is accumulated to the height of a liquid level H2, an upper liquid level detection sensor 11 and a bottom part electrode sensor 12 are brought to a continuity state and a signal is detected by a detection circuit 13 and the upper liquid level H2 is detected. The detection signal is sent to a control circuit 14 from the detection circuit 13 and a drive circuit 15 drives a small recovery pump 16 to recover the ink in the gutter 8 in a volume V2 corresponding to H2-H1. Because the liquid level H1 is set to a part above the inner bottom part of the gutter 8, the ink in the gutter 8 is recovered so as to slightly leave the ink in the gutter 8 and the invasion of air into an ink recovery tube 9 is prevented by the residual ink in the gutter 8. |
