A rove of fibres (1) is drawn inside the drawing frame proper (2) and then into a condenser unit (6) in the form of a mobile guiding surface on which the fibres (1) are delivered tangentially and which exerts a stretching force on the free end of the fibres. The spun yarn formed is, before being wound, subjected to false twisting (7) by means of a spindle with crossed belts or their equivalent. The method makes it possible to manufacture a spun yarn that can be used immediately without giving it a further twist.
