<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the mixture of a fuel with air by a construction wherein protuberances extending from the center to the periphery and formed differently in level for interrupting an eddy current of air are provided on the top surface of a piston so as to generate turbulence in the flows of air and an atomized fuel in a period when the atomized fuel is carried on the eddy current of air and developed. CONSTITUTION:In this case, one protuberance on the top surface of a piston corresponds to a group of an atomized fuel jetted from one fuel valve and formed. A turbulence is generated when the atomized fuel flowing over the top surface of the piston gets over the protuberance, while said fuel so moves as to traverse an air flow. The air flow itself becomes turbulent in the vicinity of the protuberance, and thus the agitation of the fuel and the air occurs in the vicinity of the protuberance, whereby the mixture of them is facilitated. In the period when the atomized fuel developed sufficiently collides with the top surface of the piston and flows over it, the relative speeds of an eddy current of the air and the atomized fuel become low, and the introduction if air turns insufficient, which results in the reduction of the mixture. Since the mixture in this period is facilitated, a combustion of high specific air utilization and high combustion efficiency can be obtained.</p> |
