In the headrest of a motor vehicle seat two bearing struts (20, 22) which can be attached to the seat back are connected in adjustable articulated fashion to a frame (38) which bears the support cushion. At the same time, an intermediate element (32) is arranged between the bearing struts (20, 22) and the frame (38), which element is swivellably mounted on the one hand in each case in the upper end region of each bearing strut (20, 22) about in each case a first hinge area (24 or 26) and on the other hand on the frame (38) about a second hinge area (36). The swivel axes (28) of these hinge areas (24, 26; 36) run parallel to one another. Furthermore, the hinge areas (24, 26; 36) are adjusted in terms of friction in such a way that although they are angle-adjustable by means of an adjustment force engaging on the support cushion, with normal loading of the support cushion they do not change their angular position as a result of a head of a passenger leaning on them. <IMAGE> |
