<p>PURPOSE:To allow a stacker-crane to issue only the required number of freight by providing its elevator with two sets of forks against a freight shelf and a transfer table which transfers the required number of freight between two sets of forks. CONSTITUTION:When the specified number of cases 11 is required to be picked up from a shelf 1, at first, an empty pallet 5a is placed over a set of forks 33 in an elevator 30 followed by lifting or lowering the elevator 30 as required. A loaded pallet 5b which stores cases 11 is next pulled out into the elevator 30 from a shelf 1a using an another set of forks 32. Then, the required number of cases 11 are picked up by means of a vacuum pick-up device 35. That is, if a condition for A<(B-A) is satisfied, where A represents the number of cases 11 to be issued, and B represents the number of cases 11 actually stored on the loaded pallet 5b, each of A cases 11 on the set of forks 32 is transferred onto the empty pallet 5a by means of the vacuum pickup device 35. After the loaded pallet 5b is placed back to the shelf 1a by the set of forks 32, the pallet 5a on the set of forks 33 is forwarded to a receiving and issuing point.</p> |
