PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength and dimensional stability by electrodepositing thickly lead dioxide via an intermediate layer onto 2 kinds of expanded plates welded to a titanium substrate. CONSTITUTION:A lead dioxide-coated electrode for electrolysis consist of a titanium substrate 1, the 1st and 2nd titanium expanded plates 2, 3 an intermediate layer 4 coated on the plates 2, 3 and lead dioxide 5 electrodeposited thereon. Said plate 2 is welded to the substrate 1 and consists of the expanded plate having 0.5-5mm. long side size of the rhombic diagonal lines (LWD), 0.5- 2.5mm. short side width (SWD), 0.1-1mm. strand width (W) and 0.05-0.6mm. thickness (T). The 2nd plate 3 is welded onto the plate 2 and consists of the rhombic plate sized 20-60mm. LWD, 10-30mm. SWD, 1-3mm. W and 1-2.5mm. T. The layer 4 is formed of >=1 kinds among platinum group metals and the alloy and oxide thereof.
