PURPOSE:To obtain a black color forming diazo fixable type thermal recording material having high sensitivity, excellent preservability and excellent light fastness of images, by using a blue coupler of general formula I and a yellow coupler of general formula II in combination as a coupler. CONSTITUTION:At least one compound of general formula I and at least one compound of general formula II are used in combination as coupler compounds, in a diazo fixable type thermal recording material provided with a photosensitive thermal recording layer comprising a diazonium salt, a coupler compound and a particulate dispersed material of an organic basic compound giving a basic atmosphere when being melted by heating (color developer) as main constituents on a base. In the formulas, each of R1 and R5 is H, or either one of them is methyl, each of R2, R3 and R4 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, cycloalkyl or aralkyl, each of R6 and R7 is H or 1-6C alkyl, or they form an alicyclic ring, which may be substituted by halogen or alkyl, and each of R8 and R9 is H, halogen, -18C alkyl, alkoxy or cycloalkyl. |
