PURPOSE:To reduce vibration and noises of an engine, by covering an inner casing having therein a submerged engine and a heat medium liquid for the engine by an outer casing by the intermediary of an air layer or a noise-absorbing material, and forming a noise-absorbing chamber above the inner casing. CONSTITUTION:An engine 3 is installed in water W filled in an inner casing 2 to serve as a heat medium. Vibration-damping members 62 are interposed between the cylindrical wall 56 and the bottom wall 59 of the inner casing 2 and the cylindrical wall 55 and the bottom wall 58 of an outer casing 1 to define hollow spaces 57, 60. A crankshaft 5 is projected upward from a crankcase 6 and connected to a work machine 31 such as a compressor of an air conditioner via a flywheel 21 and a coupling 30. The upper end of the inner casing 2 is closed by a cap 48, and a cover 47 having a noise-absorbing material attached thereto is disposed above the cap 48, in the manner that a noise-absorbing chamber 50 incorporating therein the work machine 31, an oil strainer 35, an intake-air cleaner 36, etc. is defined between the cap 48 and the cover 47. Further, a pipe P extending along the inner surface of the inner casing 2 is connected to an external hot-water supply system or the like. |
