PURPOSE:To roll accurately a metallic endless belt of prescribed length by rolling a material of metallic endless belt while providing a tension to the material with the aids of a straightly actuating mechanism and a counter weight and providing a tension only the counter weight when the rolling is near completion. CONSTITUTION:A material 24 of metallic endless belt is wound around a work roll 18 and a tension roll 16, and a lock handle 50 is turned to provide a tension of prescribed value to the material 24. The work roll 18 is mounted between backup rolls 8, 9 by a hydraulic cylinder 30, and a tension roll 16 is retreated by actuating the cylinder 30 through a carriage 15 to provide a tension to the material 24, and a tension produced by the counter weights 27a, 27b is simultaneously piled on said tension. When the loop length of material 24 comes close to the prescribed length, the tension by the cylinder 30 is released and only the tension by the weights 27a, 27b is provided to the material 24 to finish the rolling. |
