PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by providing a loop-back line whose direction is opposite to that of a data line, allowing a station which detects reception trouble to send a loop-back indication to other stations successively and repeat trouble search, and disconnecting a trouble station. CONSTITUTION:When there is a trouble at a terminal station D in case a terminal station F transmits data to a terminal station E through the data line 1, its reception is not confirmed, so the terminal station F detects the reception trouble and starts searching for the trouble. The terminal station F specifies a half- numbered adjacent terminal station among all terminal stations in the system to perform loop-back operation, and specifies a further half-numbered terminal station in case of a failure in loop-back reception to perform loop-back operation. When loop-back reception is successful, the loop-back station is requested to perform loop-back search to adjacent stations a quarter as many as all the stations, and this operation is repeated in this order to search for the trouble station. |
