PURPOSE:To inexpensively manufacture a compact and highly accurate multiplex lens, by forming a preformed lens and low-softening point glass having a different refractive index in one body while the glass is pressed with pressure against the lens. CONSTITUTION:A preformed lens 5 is held by a pressing machine 8. Low-softening point glass 6 having a different refractive index from that of the glass constituting the lens 5 is held by a holder 10. Then a forming mold 9 is fitted to the front end of another pressing machine 7 and the pressing machines 7 and 8 and holder 10 are aligned on the same axis. Then, after all of them are heated to the softening point of the glass 6, the pressing machines 7 and 8 are pressure-contacted. Therefore, a multiplex lens composed of the lenses 5 and 6 is inexpensively manufactured with high accuracy. When another lens 5' is fitted to the front end of the pressing machine 7 instead of the forming mold 9, a triplex lens 5, 6, and 5' can be manufactured easily. |
