摘要 |
PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance, etc. by constituting an optical transmission fiber of a core component consisting essentially of methyl methacrylate and a cladding component consisting essentially of vinylidene fluoride contg. 0.5- 10mol% hexafluoropropene. CONSTITUTION:A polymer consisting essentially of vinylidene fluoride contg. 0.5-10mol% hexafluoropropene is produced by a block polymn. method, etc. to form a cladding component polymer. The refractive index of the cladding component polymer is preferably 1.35-1.42, more particularly preferably 1.40-1.42. On the other hand, the polymer consisting essentially of methyl methacylate which is a core component is obtd. by a block polymn. and a double extrusion method for formation of a core component from the resultant polymer together with formation of the above-described cladding component is applied to obtain an optical transmission fiber having the core-cladding structure. The optical transmission fiber has excellent heat resistance and the actual service temp. thereof is made >=110 deg.C. |
