EXAMPLE:A compound shown by the formula II. USE:Magenta dye for forming color image, a magenta filter for photography, or a magenta filter for solid camera tube. Also usable as a blue or a red filters by blending the titled dye with cyan dye and yellow dye. PREPARATION:An intermediate (preferably compound shown by the formula IV, etc.) shown by the formula III (X is H, or group to be released in coloring process) is oxidized and coupled with an aromatic primary amine (e.g., 4-amino-N- ethylaniline, etc.) shown by the formula V.
