<p>An ash-tray, including a funnel on top of an openable closed compartment. The funnel is adapted to receive ashes and is provided with a small vertical cylinder to receive a cigarette fag-end. It is a matter of seconds for the ashes and the fag-end to be extinguished and wastes may be allowed to fall into the lower closed compartment through the action of a sliding-gate mechanism which opens bores at the bottom of the funnel and cylinder. The closed compartment is hinged to the funnel and may be opened by releasing resilient clamps.</p> |
