An analytic instrument for measuring the concentration of substances in solution defines a Gran function relating the potential measured by an ion specific electrode to the concentration of the substance in the solution. The function is defined by the actual measured potentials, together with the reaction type designated by the user. Means are provided to create, alter, and ultimately store a group of predefined analysis methods incorporating different analysis techniques and analysis parameters to thereby accumulate a series of analytic methods individually adapted to the user and providing the optimum analytic method for the particular substances measured by that user. |
