The inlet valVe system is for a rail vehicle braking mechanism, with first valves continuing or stopping reduction in a brake control pressure, this reduction causing brake application. A control plunger engages with these valves in first and second position, and has opposite pressure chambers subjected to the brake control pressure. The brake control pressure acts on the plunger in the first chamber over a first pressure area, and in the second over a second one. The plunger is pre-loaded into a first position, in which control pressure is retained in one of the chambers during an emergency braking operation, so that reduction of this pressure during this operation causes a pressure difference along the plunger. This overcomes the pre-loading and thrusts the plunger into the second position.
|
