PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of index motion of movable means considerably by performing direct and precise measurement of actual prelimiary movement of movable means with predetermined interval and correcting the operational control of drive source on the basis of the measurements. CONSTITUTION:A rotary machining tool 42 is moved while machining while a frame body 8 is moved by predetermined amount to the left and right for every reciprocation of a frame body 36 to perform the index motion of work holding means 14 and a magnetic head material 46 by predetermined amount thus to make a groove in said material. Here, the index motion is performed by controlling the motion of drive source 18 through drive source control means 34 or by energizing the drive source 18 for predetermined time with predetermined time interval. The control means 34 is provided with necessary data including the necessary index and movement from main control means 48 of the system while a pulse signal corresponding with the movement of the frame body 8 from a frame movement monitoring means 28 and controls the operation of the drive source 18 on the basis of the provided data and pulse signal thus to limit the movement error within 1mum. |
