PURPOSE:To apply a tape electrode tightly onto the molded face of a guide body in an electric discharge machine, by pressing a tape electrode against the outercircumferential wall of the guide body while applying supersonic vibration and performing the restriction machining thereby preventing occurrence of crinkles. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the start of machining, a guide body 4 is faced through the cross-slide tables 24, 25 against a spinning device 40 on a turn table 26. Then a tape electrode 9 is drawn out of a tape electrode feeding drum 8 to switch the hydraulic changeover valves 34, 35 thus to pull up a dies 31 at the tip of piston rods 32a, 33a through the cylinders 32, 33 and to cover the molded face 4a and the outercircumferential wall face of the guide body 4 with the electrode 9. At the same time, a motor 43 will rotate to contact a supersonic wave generator 41 against the guide body 4 while to drive a servo motor 7 and a motor 29 by means of a controller not shown thus to contact the electrode 9 tightly against the guide body 4 while applying supersonic vibration. Thereafter, a work 3 and the guide body 4 are faced each other to perform electric discharge machining. |
