PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a V-shaped knife edge and cut the cutting cost by cutting a metal plate vertically and horizontally by pushing-in a pair of cutting tools having flanges at the both edges of the V-shaped knife edge from the vertical or the lateral directions into the metal plate such as a continuously cast piece, etc. CONSTITUTION:A cutting tool 6 for vertically cutting a metal plate has flanges 8 on the both edge-surfaces in the direction of the share point line 9 of a V-shaped knife edge 7, and the top edge surface 10 of the flange 8 is on the same plane of the share point line 9 of the V-shaped knife edge 7, or the top edge surface 10 of the flange 8 projects a little from the share point line 9 of the V-shaped knife edge 7. When a continuously cast piece 14 is vertically cut, the share point line 9 of the V-shaped knife edges 7 of a pair of cutting tools 6 in the upper and lower which are arranged from the both sides at the vertically symmetrical positions with respect to the continuously cast piece 14 are attached onto a long piece surface 15 of the continuously cast piece 14, crossing at right angles, outside the both long side surfaces 15 or the both short piece surfaces 16 of the continuously cast piece 14, and when the V-shaped knife edge 7 of a pair of cutting tools 6 in the upper and lower is pushed towards the center of the continuously cast piece 14, the top edge surfaces 10 of the flanges 8 of the cutting tool 16 are attached each other, and the share point line 9 is attached, and the piece 14 can be cut. |
