PURPOSE:To utilize the storage capacity effectively and to improve serviceability by extracting a sound signal which is stored for a predetermined period, and storing it again after specific sound compression processing through a sound storing and reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:A sound signal inputted from a subscriber 1 is converted by a converting circuit 6 into an adaptive difference PCM code, which is stored in a sound memory 7 and then outputted. A control circuit 8 monitors its storage elapsed time, and scans temporarily and reads a sound signal which attains to the predetermined period to a sound analyzer 9. The sound analyzer 9 analyzes the sound signal and compresses it to less than several kilobits per second. The control circuit 8 stores its output in the sound memory 7 and when a subscriber 11 makes a request for reproduction is connected to the network 2 of an automatic switchboard, a central processor 3 sends a reproduction indication to the control circuit 8, and a sound signal when stored in the speech memory 7 is converted by a special converting circuit 10, and reproduced and transmitted to the receiving subscriber 7. |
