PURPOSE:To secure the smooth turning movement of a spindle head by lightening the centrifugal force through the approach of the main shafts to the turning center side, during the turning of the spindle head, in a driving apparatus for turning the turning spindle head installed onto a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:A turning spindle head 5 supported onto the supporting shaft 8 of a transfer base 4 is turned by an actuator. The main shafts 6 and 6' freely fitted together with a motor HM into the turning spindle head 15 and engaged with the proper restraining member such as cams 6a and 6a', and the turning members 7 and 23 for converting the turning movement of the turning spindle head 5 to the turning of the main shafts 6 and 6' are installed onto the main shafts 6 and 6'. The main shafts 6 and 6' are sunk into the turning spindle head 5 during the turning of the turning spindle head 5. Therefore, the centrifugal force is linghtened during the turning of the spindle head 5, and the energy of the inertial movement of the spindle head 5 is reduced markedly, and the spindle head 5 smoothly turns. |
