PURPOSE:To prevent over revolution of an engine and smooth start by detecting the operation of a brake at car stop state and successively lubricating a low speed hydraulic engagement element using the operation of an operating high speed transmission system holding device. CONSTITUTION:A high speed transmission system holding device 16 whose brake is operated at car stop state. A third-speed hydraulic clutch C3 inserted in a third-speed transmission system that is a high speed transmission system is lubricated by the operation of this device 16 and a first-speed hydraulic clutch C1 inserted in a first-speed transmission system that is a low speed transmission system is lubricated successively also by the operation of the corresponding device 16. As a result, at start, the release of the high speed transmission system is performed by the operaton release of the corresponding device 16 and the low speed transmission system is established at the same time. In the meantime, the neutral state is never formed.
