The invention relates to cat litter trays in which the changing of soiled litter is facilitated by a fast, easy and clean operation in which the tray converts into a hand shovel. The litter tray 13 used by the cat is here filled by opening a valve 4 situated at the bottom of a reserve supply 2, which latter is placed vertically above the tray. This does away with elaborate handling of the large, heavy bags of litter currently sold. The combining of a bin 7 with the reserve supply avoids the need to carry soiled litter and, owing to its design, avoids the dispersion of smells, even when the bin bag is being closed, which operation is performed without handling the bag, the bin being closed. <IMAGE>
