PURPOSE:To provide an ahesive having excellent adhesion, consisting of a chlorohydrin derivative of specified crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene. CONSTITUTION:0.1-2mol of an org. acid and 0.2-4mol of H2O2 are added to an inert org. solvent soln. of 1-40wt% crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene, each quantity being per 100g of polybutadiene. The mixture is reacted at 0-80 deg.C for 10min-10hr to epoxidize the polybutadiene. A hydrogen halide is reacted with the epoxidized polybutadiene at 10-60 deg.C for 1min-10hr to introduce chlorohydrin groups into 5-70% of the unsaturated double bonds of the 1,2-polybutadiene, thus obtaining an adhesive composed of a chlorohydrin derivative of the crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene in which at least 75% of unsaturated double bonds are 1,2-bond and which has a m.p. of 60-170 deg.C and a reduced viscosity (etasp/ C) of 0.2 or above as measured in tetralin soln. (200mg/100ml) at 100 deg.C.
